Jim Skowyra, Owner

Combining a twenty year career in broadcast and advertising with fifteen years in software development, Jim brings a unique perspective to website design and building.

“Creating and implementing a format for a radio station is very similar in concept to designing a website. The key thing is to build it for just one person. In radio, we programmed for a target listener. In the web world, you create a persona, that is, a profile of a typical site visitor. Once that is in place, everything, from graphics to content, is driven by addressing the needs and wants of that persona.”

Jim is a graduate of Friends University with a degree in Computer Information Systems. He has built large scale web-based applications for the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service, UNIPAC Student Loan Processing, The United States Air Force, and Citibank.

In 2007, Jim was hired by Reynolds Plantation to implement a web content management system for its membership which numbered over 10,000. After researching both proprietary and open source systems, the decision was made to utilize Drupal. Working with the system over the past two years has given him a deep appreciation for the platform.  Today, he focuses on building e-commerce and media rich website using Drupal.
